izel exists to make rare coloured stones easier to evaluate, harder to misrepresent, and beautifully presented — without sounding like an investment pitch or a marketplace.
Diamonds became transparent because buyers learned to compare. Coloured stones are harder — value depends on colour, tone, saturation, origin, treatment, cut and inclusions, all at once. We document each gem the way a laboratory does, then add the kind of plain note we’d want to read ourselves: where the windowing sits, how the stone behaves under warm light, what the cut compromises.
We are based in Singapore, sourcing through long-standing Sri Lankan relationships. Stones may be viewed in our atelier at Raffles Place by appointment, or through live video under daylight and warm light. Significant pieces are eligible for second-lab verification before purchase.
Stones are reviewed in person against izel's colour, cut and clarity standards. Most are declined.
Each accepted stone is sent for an independent laboratory report and photographed under controlled light.
Expert notes are written and reviewed in Singapore. Treatment and origin wording follows the issuing lab.
Insured delivery, second-lab verification on request, custom setting, and after-sale documentation.
Class B registration with Singapore's ACD framework, applicable for precious stones of any value.
In line with AML/CFT obligations. We will pause a sale rather than skip required due diligence.
We do not paraphrase lab reports to overstate certainty. "Origin opinion" stays "origin opinion".
For significant stones, we recommend viewing in person. Our atelier at Raffles Place is by appointment only — Monday through Saturday, daytime and evening slots. International clients may request live video viewings under daylight and warm light.
